Denovali Records, home to composer Poppy Ackroyd that we interviewed in Issue 10 of I CARE IF YOU LISTEN Magazine, is about to release an interesting album by Polish pianist and composer Kuba Kapsa.

Known for the alternative-rock band Something Like Elvis, or the avant-jazz Contemporary Noise Sextet, Kapsa ventures into contemporary classical music with a series of projects titled “Vantdraught.”

Influenced by American minimalists (and especially Steve Reich in the track below), “Vantdraught 10″—the first installment of the Vantdraught series—is written for 4 violins, 2 violas, cello, vibraphone, marimba and piano. We are thrilled to offer a premiere of No. 4, taken for the upcoming album:

Vantdraught 10 Vol. 1, with its compositional strengths and impeccable production, really helps position the German label on the contemporary classical stage. Known since 2005 for ambient, drone, eletronica or jazz, readers are now advised to keep an eye on the Essen-based label, as well as Kuba Kapsa and his ensemble. I know we will.
