Escort & Darcy James Argue’s Secret Society

The Grammy-nominated 18-piece steampunk big band, Darcy James Argue’s Secret Society, joins forces with Escort, creators of “the best disco album of 2011” (SPIN), for a night of groove-based music in a variety of shapes and sizes. Argue, one of the most acclaimed young jazz composers active today off the strength of his debut album, Infernal Machines and his recent evening-length followup at BAM’s Next Wave Festival, Brooklyn Babylon, will create new arrangements for the combined ensembles, while both groups will draw off each others’ members to augment their own bands, filling the stage with some of the most talented instrumentalists working in New York today.
