Contagious Sounds presents IKTUS Percussion Quartet and t8ts

Vicky Chow’s concert series will have its inaugural concert at Cornelia Street Cafe, this week.  IKTUS PERCUSSION QUARTET  will perform a program of works by Cory Bracken, Ron Ford Cole, Elliot Cooper Cole, Levy Lorenzo, and Stuart Saunders Smith.  t8ts—a new collaboration between violinist Andie Springer, flutist Domenica Fossati, bassist Lisa Dowling and pianist Vicky Chow—will present works by John Luther Adams, Dan Cooper, Stephen Feigenbaum, Brooks Frederickson, David Lang, and Liza White. Lisa Dowling will also perform two of her own compositions for bass voice and electronics.

Mantra Percussion | Music in the Garden

The Noguchi Museum, in collaboration with Bang on a Can/Cantaloupe Music, will host a series of innovative music every second Sunday in the summer. Mantra Percussion will perform Michael Gordon’s Timber in the Museum’s sculpture garden. Timber is a full-length concert composed for six percussionists playing on amplified two by fours using mallets and fingertips.
