Composers Concordance | Founding Directors Concert

This free event will feature the music of composers Patrick Hardish and Joseph Pehrson, who, advised by Otto Luening, founded Composers Concordance in 1984. In addition, tributary compositions by current co-directors Gene Pritsker, Dan Cooper, and Milica Paranosic will be heard. Performers will include flutist Margaret Lancaster, accordionist William Schimmel, pianists Judith Olson and Cesar Vuksic, percussionist Peter Jarvis, and dancer Linda Pehrson. The concert will be followed by a brief reception.

NYsoundCircuit celebrates its fifth season with fresh musical, visual, and spoken word acts while also highlighting staple artists of past seasons. Spoken word performance artist POET GOLD presents her performance of I M A Poet along with her crew of vocalists. ROBERT DICK returns for the 3rd time in NYsoundCircuit history with a set of solo works, complemented by JESSICA MEYER’s own compositions for viola and electronics. Throughout the evening, seasoned NYsoundCircuit artist BILL MAZZA will capture the music, people, and architecture of the space in his continuing series, SPATIAL TENDENCIES.
