Tangent: Wooley
For Kenneth Gaburo, is an evening-length work for trumpet and pre-recorded electronic sound. Using Nate Wooley’s research in the mechanical production of phonetic sound and its effect on the tonal production, the work stretches an introductory text by Gaburo until the component phonemes lose their connection to textual meaning and become pure sound. This is the final work in Wooley’s 3 year Syllables solo trumpet project.
