The concert seeks to celebrate composers and performers with disabilities throughout music history, from Francesco Landini in the 14th-century to the present day. In addition to classical works (including compositions by Ludwig van Beethoven, Joaquín Rodrigo, and Gabriela Lena Frank), the program explores music by disabled performers in other musical genres, including the blues and bluegrass, as well as the minimalist songwriting of Moondog. The program also includes the world premiere of an opera scene about accessibility, particularly the phenomenon of access denial that disabled people face on a regular basis.
