On Friday, October 25, 2019, Sono Luminus releases The Etudes Project, Volume One: ICEBERG, an album of twenty concert etudes—including ten new works by the member composers of ICEBERG New Music—performed by the pianist Jenny Lin. On the same day, the complete score of the new works from The Etudes Project, Volume One: ICEBERG will be published by NewMusicShelf, and Lin will perform a concert of all ten new works (as well as selected other works from the album) at the National Opera Center in New York City.

Dither presents their seventh Dither Extravaganza!, a raucous festival of creative music and art. The Extravaganza showcases a cross-section of New York’s diverse experimental music scene, featuring artists whose backgrounds span jazz, classical, metal, pop, electronica and the avant-garde. The Extravaganza is set up as an all-day gathering with wildly contrasting musical acts throughout the night. There are no fixed seating arrangements (though chairs are available for those who need them) and the audience is welcome to come and go as they please.

Pianist Shai Wosner appears with ECCO (East Coast Chamber Orchestra) in an eclectic pairing of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 14 in E-flat major and the world premiere of Christopher Cerrone’s The Air Suspended. Written for Mr. Wosner, the new concerto for piano and strings was inspired by changes of weather and the enormous reserves of energy required to accomplish such a transformation.
