Dan Lippel | Kettle Corn New Music

Kettle Corn New Music presents guitarist Dan Lippel in a program exploring the breadth of new and recent music written for the solo guitar. Ranging from acoustic to electric guitar, this concert will include works by Martin Bresnick, Reiko Fueting, Ursula Mamlok, and Chris Rogerson, Ingram Marshall’s Soe-Pa for acoustic guitar with loop pedal, Fausto Romitelli’s Trash TV Trance, and a world premiere by Kettle Corn New Music composer Ryan Harper.

Iva Bittová

Bang on a Can and the Jewish Museum’s 2017-18 concert season continues with a performance by Iva Bittová. Her solo performance will reflect the central themes of cultural exchange and influence present in the exhibition Veiled Meanings: Fashioning Jewish Dress, from the Collection of the Israel Museum, Jerusalem. This acoustic program will feature a mix of Bittová’s earlier original compositions and new works.

Unheard-of//Ensemble

Unheard-of//Ensemble’s clarinetist Ford Fourqurean and pianist Daniel Anastasio share a set with guitarist/composer Aaron Garcia and violist Anna Heflin. Garcia and Heflin open with experimental sound art exploring structure, notation, and improvisation for guitar and viola. Unheard-of premieres two new works by Garcia and Heflin along the same theme, exploring semi-notational structures combined with improvisatory writing, followed by Jesse Jones’s Ephemera and Joan Tower’s Fantasy (those harbor lights…).
