Adam Levin makes his New York solo recital debut at Le Poisson Rouge celebrating the launch of his first Naxos recording, 21st Century Spanish Guitar, Vol. 1., the first of four volumes documenting his major collaboration with 30 of the new century’s ‘Spanish Masters.’ Levin’s program builds bridges from the past with music by Eugène Ysaÿe, J.S. Bach, and Joaquín Turina, alongside new virtuosic works dedicated to him by Ricardo Llorca, Eduardo Morales-Caso, and Octavio Vazquez.

The Coterie: Downtown/Uptown
The concert, which is directed by Theresa McCarthy, will feature the talents of three-time Tony nominee Marc Kudisch, Lauren Worsham, Joshua Jeremiah, Katie Thompson, McCarthy, Eve Gigliotti, Amelia Watkins, Jeff Gavett and Cree Carrico. The evening of operatic arias, art songs, indy rock jams and musical theatre numbers will include compositions by David T. Eavesdropping | Elliott Sharp meets Either/Or

“Collapses” Album Release | Threefifty

Threefifty fuses the folk-influenced, alt-classical visions of Brooklyn-based guitarist-composers Brett Parnell and Geremy Schulick, a soundworld in which sunny Appalachia co-exists with shadowy corridors. Reminiscent of the Scottish post-rock band Mogwai, Threefifty intermingles minimalism with the Baroque. Their new album Collapses echoes the hypnotic effects of Steve Reich’s music, in a more expansive style that summons the delicate light diffusions of iconic guitarist John Fahey. The duo’s “songs without words” have also drawn comparisons to Austin’s Explosions in the Sky.
